Adhesion - attraction between two different substances

Cohesion- sticking together of particles of the same substances. The molecules in the water are sticking together

Universal Solvent- substances in which solutes dissolve and is present in greater concentration. Water is the universal solvent because it can dissolve any substance. All organism depends on water.
Surface Tension - The water is on the surface of the penny

Capillary Action- the liquid within the straw is moving all in one stream.

Water is more dense than ice-

Cell Membrane Diffusion Lab (Katelyn Adams)

The plastic bag is representing the cell membrane, which was filled with corn starch. The jar was half filled with iodine and water.

The iodine in the plastic bag turned purple. This is an act of osmosis. The semi- permeable cell, allowed water to pass through and change by the molecule which is the iodine. The iodine and water is an act of diffusion.

Water blog (Katelyn Adams)

1. Surface Tension
The water molecules on top of the penny are sticking together and this is when it creates surface tension.

2. Cohesion
Cohesion is the ability for water molecules to stick to itself.

3. Universal Solvent
This represents a universal solvent because the water is dissolving the tea mix.

4. Capillary Action
This shows how adhesion and cohesion are helping with allowing the solution to come up the straw.

5. Adhesion
This shows how the water from the sponge is being dropped into the watering pot.

Cell membrane diffusion Lab- Daisha Thompson

My partner and I had to observe the diffusion of a substance across a semi permeable membrane. The iodine was used for the indicator for the corn starch. The longer the corn starch set in the Baggie with water and inside of the beaker with water and iodine solution the darker the starch turned.

water blog

surface of the water is Water Tension

water blog

the dissolving agent of a solition is Universal Solvent

water blog

the attraction between different substances it sticks to another surface called adhesion

water blog

when you place a straw in a liquid that is called pillarity
helps produce surface tension as the water molecules hold together which is called cohesion

Water blog Taesean

Universal solvent: water because it has the ability to dissolve mostly all solvents

Cohesion is represented here because the water or molecule is sticking to itself.

This is capillary action because the substance is flowing through a narrow space with out any assistance.

Adhesion is happening here because the water is sticking to the desk

This is surface tension because the color stayed on top of the milk. Within water hydrogen bonds link together to create a film or surface.

Water is more dense than ice- This is because water haves less energy and this is when hydrogen bond begin to take over

transpiration plant

transpiration in which the plants may be moisture in the container because it's being closed in and transpiration moisture runs through the roots to the the water level

Cell Membrane Diffusion ( An'Drake Hall )

Cell membrane diffusion lab

Day 1
Me and Dakara and our project

A plastic bag representing the cell membrane was filled with corn starch. A jar was half filled with iodine and diluted  with water. The bag with corn starch was tied up and placed in the jar.

Day 1 ( after 15 minutes )
The iodine in the plastic bag ( the cell membrane) turned purple. This is an act of osmosis. The semi- permeable cell, (plastic bag) allowed water to pass through and get indulged by the molecule which is the iodine and diluted water which is an act of diffusion.

Cohesion- The Bondig Together of the same substance. The Water In The Toilet Is Bonding and it gets flushed and Renewed Together.       Hydrogen Molecules- Are Seperated Farther Apart When in Liquid Form this causes Ice to float in water cause ice to dense.   The Liquid  is Being Move Together in one Stream.        Surface Tension- The Dye is in the Surface of the Milk.

Adhesion- The Action of Sticking to a Surface.

Water is the universal Solvent Because It Can Dissolve Any Substance. Also all Organism Depend On Water.

Water Blog ( alaysia )

as you can see my hand and the sink is an example of capillary action. Capillary action is when a solid and liquid interact. Not only is the water interacting with my hand but also the sink drain.
This picture describes surface tension
in this picture I was required to use food coloring and dish wash to break the surface tension of milk.
This represents Cohesion . Cohesion are liquid sticking together as one on a surface.

Milk Tye Die Lab (Girnae💙,Destiny💙,Lyric💙)

Q10: Describe what happened when you touched the surface of the milk with the soapy end of the toothpick ?
A: The colors had expanded and made swirls
Q11: What do you think is happening. To the surface tension of the milk when you add the dishwashing soap ?
A: The surface tension is breaking
Q12: If you repeat the experiment using the same milk does it work as well as the first time you did it ?
      A: No
Q13: Why do you think this is ?
A: no, because it's already used milk

In this video you will see how the soap reduces the surface tension of the milk by dissolving the fat molecules. The interaction between the two causes a turbulence as the soap breaks down the fat in the milk.  The mixture of the two causes the food coloring to swirl.

Cohesion is the sticking together of particles of the same substances

Universal Solvent dissolves more substances

Capillary Action is the ability of a liquid to flow in narrow spaces

Surface Tension is the elastic tendency of liquids, objects floating on water
