Cells.

2)  What process is used to repair cells?
Mitosis.

3)  In the video Hank gives examples, list some.
  If you get a cut, mitosis replaces. if you drink too much, it damages your liver and mitosis replaces.

4) How does a 7 pound baby turn into a 70 pound child?
Its not cells increasing in mass, its them duplicating over and over.

5) About how many times does mitosis happen in a lifetime?

10,000,000,000,000,000 times.

6) What stores DNA in a cell?

Nucleus.

7) How is the DNA organized in your cells?

DNA is organized into chromosomes.

8) What type of cells are the 46 chromosomes?

Diploid Cells.

 Nuclear division plus cytokinesis, and produces two identical daughter cells during prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.

3D Cell model project (Dakara and Ashlee)

              ANIMAL CELL CAKE
Ashlee and I decided to do an animal cell. You can tell it is an animal cell because animal cells are round VS plant cells that are rectangular. 
                ANIMAL VS PLANT
1.) Animal cells and plant cells are different in various ways.
•animal cells do not have a chloroplast but plant cells do. 
•animal cell has no cell but plant cells do.
•the shapes are different 
•an animal cell is smaller than a plant cell
         MAJOR JOBS OF THE CELL
The three major functions of a cell are:
1. Make more cells 
2. Energy conversion 
3. Transport molecules 
                   STEM CELLS 
A stem cell is a cell that stores genetic information in the plant tissue. 
Stem cells can be useful in these ways:
•increase understanding of how diseases occur.
-watching stem cells mature help doctors see how diseases Develop 
•stems cells are a major key in cell regeneration 
-helps repair damaged tissue

1. I created a plant cell and three distinguishable characteristics are the Cell Wall, which only are in plant cells. it also has chloroplast and a large vacuole that are exclusive to plant cells.

2. The Three basic functions of a cell are transport of molecules, conversion of energy and reproduction.

3. A stem cell is a cell that stores the genetic info inside the plant tissue.

4.  Potential uses for stem cells are macular degeneration, heart disease and diabetes.
